This young man is Austin and he’s with his mom Brianne. Austin will turn five soon and he was very excited to start Kindergarten this fall.

Sadly, in mid-September, Austin was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia). Austin is at Children’s Hospital undergoing 28 days of aggressive chemotherapy, after which he will need to stay in Winnipeg to be close to the hospital. Brianne is staying with Austin at the hospital, with family visiting as they can. They have a room at Ronald McDonald House, but are looking into renting an apartment for the longer term stay.
