Youth Soccer Loses a Beloved Player and Friend
On October 24 2020, the youth soccer family lost a wonderful young player named Austin (12) and his older brother Logan (14) in a tragic situation. These boys are survived by their two young sisters, Aven (3) and Nora (7) (pictured below), who were reunited with their mother Tara after a successful multi-state Amber alert.
Our team, Arsenal 08 , had previously planned soccer scrimmages with a few teams for Sunday, November 8th, 2020. Austin was a player on one of the teams planning to play. When we learned that the Billy Goats were suffering from the loss of a player and friend, we knew we had to do something. We decided to make it a mini-tournament, dedicate it to the memory of Austin and Logan, and raise funds for their family.
The youth soccer community is a strong one. This gofundme is to appeal to that community to raise funds for this family as they face a funeral and other unknown support needs in the future.
In full transparency, there is another gofundme setup by a family friend. However, we don't know what this family will need in terms of support going forward as they work through the aftermath of this tragedy. Please consider a contribution.
The Arsenal 08 family wants the Jackson family to know that our hearts are broken with theirs, and we pray for them. And, we want the Billy Goats to know that we grieve with them too. In the state of the world today, it is important that we not only care for each other, but also find ways to show how much we care.
