AUSOM Makai

This is our AUSOM  8  year  old  son Makai!!  He was diagnosed at the  age  of  3 with Autism.  He is non verbal but overflowing with love and enthusiasm!! Makai is very inquisitive which only increases his eloping and wandering away from us and our home. As a family (of 6)  we decided to move to Pueblo Colorado from Hawaii to provide a better and more affordable life for our kids and finally be able to own a home. Unfortunately as soon as we moved to Colorado from Hawaii purchased a home, this crazy thing called COVID happened. So needless to say, like everyone we have struggled. Mom hasn't been able to go to work at all since moving as she not only has the full time job of being stay at home mom for our family but now teacher of three kids including Makai. We struggle to get by on one income and we are hoping to be blessed with enough Aloha from friends to be able to puchase a fence around our property and possibly get some funds to start the process of obtaining a service dog so that we dont have to constantly worry that Makai could possibly wander off or end up in any danger.  We have also faced the challenge of " teaching"  him and the other 2 without the proper or any resources as they are all minimal at this time. Makai needs sensory items and tools that help calm and stimulate him, especially during times of meltdowns.. He loves to touch and feel, and feel secure so we would like to try to mimic a space for him as he has in the center he attended previously. We have reached out with our story to fence companies and a few other places for help or donations but I know it is a lot to ask for ( understandably)  during these times. So again we figured it might be worth a try to see if anyone in the GoFundMe world may be able to bless us in our pursuit of safety for our Amazing son Makai...   Love and Aloha from the Blunt family!!!
