Current AUSLMAT Youth Initiative

Severe floods and landslides triggered by Cyclone Ditwah have caused immense catastrophe in Sri Lanka, with the current death toll at least 123 people, another 130 missing and approx. 44,000 displaced. The country has declared a state of public emergency.

Due to this catastrophe, there is a heightened risk of waterborne diseases due to contaminated floodwaters, meaning that innocent individuals are deprived of safe/non-contaminated food and water.

We are a youth led non-profit charity that aims to improve the health and welfare for those that are underprivileged in Sri Lanka. We aim to increase medical awareness and provide medical aid due to the lack of resources and aid received by those in Sri Lanka. We also aim to create a community of individuals in Melbourne that not only want to help others, but want to network and socialise with like-minded individuals.
