Greetings, Explorers. Aurum LARP is the brainchild of three incredible writers: Aaron Cohen, Kelvin Ortega and Pete Partyka. A Steampunk LARP set on a different world where the Age of Magic is dying and the Power of Steam is rising. Dwarven Kingdoms have become Merchant Houses, Goblin armies have become Alchemical Gods. After a new continent is discovered to the South, all of the civilized nations are racing to the center to settle and claim as much land and as many goods as their own. You play the scientists, mercenaries, engineers, and more that were contracted to tame this new land!
Aurum LARP seeks to focus on roleplay and teamwork as the devices to push forward the story and character development, instead of heavy reliance on combat and complex rules systems. It is our belief that our unique system, a focus on story, and desire to immerse our players as fully as possible that will drive the game to success and our players to greater heights of enjoyment.
With the funds raised here, should we reach our goal, we intend to cover our first Weekend event in 2018 and our insurance costs for the year. We are hoping to reach this goal within 45 days of kicking off this GFM.
Should we raise anything above our initial goal, the next $1,000 will go toward the down payments for future Weekend events. Should we exceed a total $2,500, the additional funds will go toward increasing our immersion: better costuming, makeup and prosthetics, latex weaponry, additional set dressing for the main room. More and better food options for meals. Y'know-the good stuff! Should we exceed a total of $3500, we will use these additional funds to commission artists to improve the look of our website and rulebook and to increase the quality of our decorations and props.
