Aurora’s Leukemia Medical Expenses

Hi, I'm Renee Otis from Tempe, AZ and it is my honor to help organize this fundraiser for my neighbors and their daughter, Aurora.  Aurora is one of my very special daycare kiddos that I love and care about very much.

 

Imagine celebrating your very active and lively daughter’s 3rd birthday with friends and family and then just weeks later learning she has Leukemia! This hardworking family’s life was turned upside down in a matter of hours and they need your help in the form of thoughts/prayers and financial support if you are able to do so. Jennifer's insurance has an extremely high deductible and there are many expenses that aren't covered.  

 

Aurora’s mom (Jennifer) is from Ecuador and her dad (Erasmo) is from Italy. In these countries it’s common practice to do blood work on younger kids. Although it’s not typical here in the US, Jennifer insisted on some basic blood work that revealed low iron. Naturally more blood work was ordered and they did labs on Monday, March 21, 2022. Aurora had an unrelated doctor appointment 3 days later and right before they left the office Jennifer asked about the lab results. When she saw the doctor’s face change expressions she immediately knew that something was seriously wrong. They were directed to go to Phoenix Children’s Hospital immediately!! Little did they know at that point that they wouldn’t be returning to their home for 11 days!
