Auriana was diagnosed with a brain tumor when she was two years old she was flown to Kapiolani Medical Center where she had emergency surgery to remove it. she lost vision in one eye and damage to her pituitary gland which controls some hormone production in her body. They couldn’t safely remove all of the tube without risking damage to some healthy Cells. So there was a small amount left after surgery. She has to take medicine every day since then to control inflammation and another to help regulate hormones production which has had a Major affect on her growth, her weight, her energy and her maturing Prematurely. Her vision can not be fixed. Shes had to fly back and forth a couple times a year to check if it’s growing. In November doctors told us that her tumor is growing again and a couple small nodules in the area of removal .We worked together with several specialists radiation cancer doctors and they came up with the best option of pencil beam proton radiation therapy. This treatment is the best option for her because it will cause the least amount of damage to healthy brain tissue surrounding the tumor. This treatment takes around six weeks of one hour therapies per day. Auriana is a happy child who loves to play, eat, bake, draw and loves to put on make up. Her favorite color is purple. She’s really into fashion jewelry she loves the beach she’s the sweetest kindest heart girl. Wouldn’t hurt a fly even when kids pick on her and she’s much bigger than all of kids her age she wouldn’t do anything to hurt them. She takes her situation pretty well she knows she’s different and kids sometimes tease her but she’s never complained about it. Not once. She has been an inspiration to many. We are raising money because we have to move as a family to Michigan to support Auriana in this treatment. Please help us keep AurianaStrong! Thank you!
