Hi All, this is my daughter Aurelia who has decided to do something amazing for her 5th birthday this April.

Aurelia was born with the most amazing head of hair and it has continued to grow and grow ever since. She has NEVER had a hair cut (apart from an unfortunate event with a pair of scissors to her fringe at school but that’s a story for another day). Aurelia is wanting to wave goodbye to her amazing long locks and donate her hair to The Little Princess Trust to support children with hair loss or who have lost their hair due to the effects of cancer treatments.

If I wasn’t proud enough and in awe of her kind spirit…

On our way home from school yesterday Aurelia spotted a poster in our local Takeaway window where she saw a little boy named Patrick whose parents are fundraising for continued stem cell treatment. After asking me LOTS of questions about Patrick and me explaining why Patrick was on the poster and what it meant, she asked if she could donate her hair to Patrick also. Upon explaining that it was pennies Patrick needed and not her hair she has decided to donate the pennies she raises for cutting her hair to Patrick’s family to support with on going treatment to help Patrick enjoy the little things we all take for granted.

Anything you can donate big or small to Aurelias birthday fundraiser will be a great help to Patrick’s treatment but also make one very generous birthday girl super happy.
