Hi! ✨️
My name is Aurelia. I'm 25yo, Polish living in UK.
THINGS BOUGHT RECENTLY FOR THE DONATIONS:
Just bought!!! Wheelchair (22/08)
Shower chair
Balcony chairs and table so I can enjoy sunny days
Currently saving money for a good wheelchair!
LITTLE BACKSTORY:
I came here when I was 19 by myself not knowing anything, just wanted to start Uni in a different country.
6 years later, here I am: after 3 hospitality jobs, being a MIDWIFE (uni placement) and delivering babies ❤️
Now I work as a Receptionist in Dentistry and I love this job!

ILLNESS:
On the 18th of June (this year 2025) I was rushed to Hopital Emergency Department with suspected sepsis. In the hospital I was informed I have neutropenic sepsis and they started blood transufions (I had 6 blood transufions during the first 2 days only). Follow by many others later on during hospital stay.
I thought this is the worst news they can give me, that I will stay in hospital for a week or two and then will be back to my life ❤️
Unfortunately not.
Only 3 days later, on the 21st of June doctors came and informed me I have rare kind of Leukemia. Its chronic so I always have the cancer in me but it can be in a remission for 5-10 years between treatments if all goes well.
I started my first chemo not even a week after the diagnosis. Finished first session which was 4 drips, 1 weekly.
Now Im starting second course of chemo on the 18th of July. Im also on chemo pill daily (that gives me risk of developing second cancer). This medication is normally used in skin cancer cases but with me they used it to get my bloods at better level.
My cancer is called HAIRY CELL LEUKEMIA and is very rare. It usually affects men after 50, and I'm a woman in my mid 20s. Therefore, the treatment and prognosis are completely different. I can't take Cladribine quickly as Im a woman and I wanna be a mum in the future and Cladribine most likely will make me infertile. There are international conferences where my case is discussed (between the other) and the treatment is led by international doctors including Korea and Germany. Often my treatment must be fund by charity as it is not a "standard" pathway and not funded on NHS.
The entire goal is to boost my immunity to be able to go through fertility preservation (freezing eggs) before I will do the last chemo course of Cladribine (5 injections once daily) and hopefully fight cancer.
We will know from Bone Marrow Biopsy if I won with cancer 6 months from the end of Cladribine.
Its a long long journey. Currently my haemoglobin is as 7, platelets at 16 and neutrophils at 0.1
I'm at home for isolation, trying to get better but it all depends on my body.
On top of that (CANCER) I have hypothyroidism, EUPD, depression and Hidradenitis suppurativa.
On the 11th I'm changing flat for one adjusted to my disability- lower floor, place for a wheelchair and bigger adjusted shower with space for a mobility chair.
The rent is almost a double of what I pay now and I need help.
Its sad for me to ask but I believe in good in people ❤️
WHERE TO FIND ME
I cope way better with the situation by sharing with people.

WHAT THE FUNDS WILL GO FOR
The most important!
I'm now on a statutory sick payment and benefits but to meet out goals with recovery I need more suport.
All your donations will go for:
- transport to and back from hospital for appointments (when Patient Transport is not available) as well as for transport in daily life (I don't drive, don't have a car)
- house equipment I need to change the place where I live due to chemo and leukemia. I currently live on the 4th floor, Ill be moving on the 11th of August. I do need a lot of house stuff such as stool for the shower, comfortable chair for the living room, new bed frame and some furnitures, fridge and washing machine
- wheelchair At the moment I'm renting my wheelchair for £25 a week. which comes up to £100 a month. As my chemo and recovery journey will take months it would be beneficial to buy my own one. Or at least have financial support with renting one.
- daily shopping My finances significantly reduced due to illness and going to SSP instead of earning money. Any help with groceries and daily shopping is highly appreciated
- medical shopping I do have Medical Exemption certificate for my prescription so I don't have to pay for crazy amount of meds I have to take daily. However, some stuff are not covered on that. I need to wear compressing stockings at all times as I dont move much and I need to avoid getting DVT/clots. Another one is all the aromatherapy that helps me with breathing and anxiety. All the essential oils are pricey, when I use it every day like now. Masks that protect me when I have to go outside the house as I'm extremely immunocompromised (neutrophils at 0.1)
- quality of my life My life quality has decreased dramatically. Im in constant bone and body pains, chemo tiredness, dizziness from meds and nauseous from meds. However, I try to wake up every day, do some drawing and fun stuff, that's why I need money for that sometimes too Some of my hobbies are painting, reading, crocheting. Its not life or death situation but it is important for my mental health.
ALL DONATIONS ARE EXTREMELY IMPORTANT FOR ME AND MY CLOSE ONES ❤️❤️❤️
Lots of love,
Aurelia
