I started this journey six long years ago with a routine knee replacement.   After reinjuring my knee and having five additional surgeries to try to correct the problems, an untreatable staph infection has set in.    My team of trusted doctors tell me "it's your leg or your life" and I choose life.    On November 14th I will have a partial amputation above my right knee.

Although my faith is strong and my attitude good, this journey will be an extreme lifestyle change for me.   My car will need to be adapted to include hand controls and, as you can probably imagine, the out-of-pocket medical expenses for surgery and transitional care recovery are considerable.  For example, my cost for the initial prosthetic will be $9,000.
