My name is Rebecca Osorio Bartholomy. I am originally from a very poor community on Mindanao in the Philippines.
I was trained all my life by a well known Filipino healer and traveled throughout the Philippines helping people until I married a US citizen and moved to Hawaii where I continue my healing work. Before I left home, my Teacher made me promise to work hard and continue supporting the poor people of my country, specificallly its children. Kids there do not receive a public education, yet being in school is often their only way out of poverty.
It is in this spirit that I began Aunty Rebeccas Filipino Student Foundation and orphanage in 1996. This organization not only provides children with an education, but gives them a place to live and healthy food to eat to keep their minds sharp and to keep them from feeling the despair all around them.
In 2013, typhoon Hayan wiped out many homes and killed many people. This storm directly affected my hometown, and I became even more determined to fund my Foundation.
This GoFundMe account has been set up to make it easier for you to donate your tax-deductible dollars to this effort. I thank you not only on my own behalf but on the behalf of those working hard to care for these kids and the children, themselves. You really CAN make a difference. Thank you for your consideration.
Aloha, Aunty Rebecca
