Our beautiful Black Queen gained her wings this week, leaving a huge hole in our hearts. She was well loved by the community and anyone who met her knew how deeply she adored her mob and her family. She was the proudest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunty, sister and friend carrying each of us with so much pride and love.

She wasn’t just our beautiful Black Queen, she left an imprint on everyone she met. She took so many people in as her own, loving them like family and making sure no one ever felt alone. Her home, her arms, and her heart were always open.

Unfortunately, the funeral funding she was meant to receive fell through. With everything happening so suddenly, our family is now doing our best to pull together and give her the beautiful, dignified farewell she deserves, one that reflects the love and generosity she shared with everyone.

We know many people will want to pay their respects and we’d love to be able to cater properly so everyone can have a feed and be included. Just the way she always made sure no one went without.

So many people have already reached out, which shows just how deeply her spirit touched our community. That love, that connection, is her legacy and it lives in every single person she welcomed as her own.
