We have confirmation today that our Aunt Kathryn and Aunt Judy's homes have both burnt down in the Camp Fire in Butte County (I am their niece). Even though money cannot replace the memories and beloved items in their home, anything will help them replace the essentials.
Kathryn lived on the top of Pentz road with her two cats. She was only able to find one before she was able to leave. She had to abandon her car and walk to Skyway where she was able to hop in the back of a pick up truck. The smoke became too much for her and a very nice couple named Terry and Paul gave her a ride in the cab of their truck down to the Raleys on Skyway where we were able to pick her up. She only made it down with her cat, a purse, and the clothes on her back.
Judy lived up in Magalia by the golf course. Her house is where we met for Thanksgiving every year. She had to watch her neighbors homes burn down as she was able to escape in her car. She is currently staying in a friend's trailer with her boyfriend Carl with another couple. Judy made it down with her car and one bag full of clothes.
These women are both some of the most caring and loving people you will ever meet and we are trying to do whatever we can to make their lives a little easier. We appreciate any help anyone is able to provide. <3
