Auntie Liz San Nicolas

On March 29th, 2023 my Auntie Liz who was a second mother to me passed away from pancreatic Cancer. She was diagnosed in January of this year. We did not know how long she had to live. However, her strong faith in the Lord and her loving family got her through every moment of it. For two months, her health rapidly declined right before our eyes.
Eventually she was offered chemotherapy and she took her blood test the day before her first treatment. As she walked into her first chemo session they admitted her into the hospital instead, with results of informing her that her kidneys/organs are failing and chemo will no longer be an option. Initially before her first oncologist appointment she was worried there wouldn't be any treatment offered to prolong her life.
As a result of how aggressive this cancer was, everything she was hoping for was taken away. Although her battle against this unfortunate disease has been an inspiring one, it has shown many of us to not take life for granted.
Not one day did she complain about pain or ask why this was happening to her. She did not want anyone to shed a tear for her or worry about her. That’s how selfless she was. The fight in her against this rare and aggressive cancer is heroic.
My Aunt was a warrior! She was a beautiful, funny, down to earth, hardworking and a big hearted woman. She was so close in her faith and loved everyone whom crossed her path. My Auntie Liz would always go out of her way to help someone in need. Whether they were a family member, friend, neighbor or stranger. It did not matter and she never expected anything in return. Her big heart made others feel loved and important.
After multiple trips to the ER, hospital bills that also include palliative home care and at-home hospice care have added up. Her husband of 31 years, took as many days off from work as he could just to be right beside her until her very last breaths. Since her passing, it has been tough financially for her family to stay afloat with bills and her funeral services. It would be such a blessing if you could help out her family who is currently in need and deserving of such assistance.
Please consider my Aunt’s unique story and hopefully you are able to make a donation. It would be so graciously appreciated. On behalf of myself and my family. Thank you for your time and prayers.
Respectfully,
Amanda
