Aunt Berna is one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. She has had many hardships in life, but has always persevered through her hard work, determination, and her jovial spirit. Many of us who know her have memories of her bringing joy and mirth to any occasion.
Aunt Berna is the kind of person who even through her struggle with cancer has still served others in her community, and given back to those in need. She has worked for 18 years as a nurse in both nursing homes and hospitals. When she could no longer do this she continued to take care of family members, both elderly and young. She’s also the kind of person who will never ask for help, which is why I am making this campaign and asking for help on her behalf.
Four years ago, she was given a misdiagnosis and received chemotherapy and radiation for the wrong type of cancer. Now, after four years of fighting cancer she is needing our help financially. Surviving cancer not only takes a toll on a person emotionally and physically, but also financially. I have seen her indomitable spirit become weary, and I cannot just sit by and watch this incredible woman get overtaken by a financial burden. It would be a shame to stand by and watch her lose this fight because of financial hardship; all she needs is support from her community. After all, it takes a village to raise a family and it takes a village to beat cancer. Please help her with whatever you can. Thank you.
Don't have the finances to help? That's okay! Please take a moment to share this campaign with your community via social media or email. Please use #auntberna when sharing on social media to show solidarity. Thank you so much!
