Dear Nieto Family,
Thank you for all your love for George, Betty and Jonathan at this time. Every prayer for their well being has been heartfelt. We know you would like to assist in any way you can. Jonathan has become the full time caregiver for both of his parents from one day to the next. Jonathan has not been working his contract job for the last month and half and is not receiving pay. George is currently at home in hospice care battling pancreatic cancer with a very poor prognosis. Aunt Betty is also at home with a diagnosis of Dementia. Aunt Betty requires assistance with activities of daily living and supervision at all times. She is mobile but fragile and can easily fall. She needs assistance with bathing, eating, grooming and dressing.
Patricia (Patty) my wife who works in the health care field for the County of Los Angeles has identified a reliable caregiver close to the Poutney home that can assist Jonathan. As you can imagine Jonathan is overwhelmed. In addition to the caregiving, there have been complications at this time for Jonathan to have access to funds to hire the caregiver for Betty. At this time finances are in transition from George to Jonathan. But George's health is fragile and his level of activity is very limited.
We are hoping that we can all join together and assist Jonathan with at least one or two months of funds to cover the expense for a reliable caregiver for Betty. Within a month or two Jonathan will have full access to funds and the needed information on options for Betty's care either at their home or in an Assisted Living Home. The in-home caregiver will cost $15.00 an hour for 8 hours per day Monday through Friday for a total of $2,400 per month. We have started this GO FUND ME account as many of you have expressed a desire to assist George, Betty and Jonathan. This is the best assistance we can give George, Betty and Jonathan at this time.
