Support Our Documentary on Ras al-Auja, Occupied Palestine

Our project:

My team and I are currently working on a documentary that highlights the struggles of the Palestinian village of Ras al-Auja in the Jordan Valley. This village has faced ongoing attacks from Israeli settlers and the Israeli military, and the situation remains dire.

This past summer, I spent two and a half months living in Ras al-Auja, providing protective presence and documenting human rights violations. Our documentary will offer an in-depth look into the daily life of this community under occupation, shedding light on their resilience and the challenges they face, which often go unnoticed by the international community.

Why We Need Your Support:

We have already filmed the majority of the footage, but in order to complete the project, we need funding for production. This includes editing, sound design, color correction, and translation services, all of which are essential to make this film a reality.

The struggle of Palestinian villages in the West Bank is largely ignored by the mainstream media, and we want to change that. By helping us finish this film, you will be directly contributing to a larger effort to raise awareness and advocate for human rights in Palestine.

Budget [updated]:

Our initial estimated budget for production was $20,000. We raised it fairly quickly thanks to your amazing support. We began the production, everything was going well... until the occupation authority massively expanded its operations in the West Bank, escalating the ethnic cleansing in January 2025. Soon after, the Israeli Occupation Forces, together with the settlers and the police, raided the village of Ras al-Auja, firing live ammunition and injuring one resident, as well as stealing 1500 sheep and goats.

Our work became significantly more difficult because of the aggression of the occupation authorities. So far during filming, we have been detained by the army twice, once physically assaulted by settlers, and once harassed by settlers. We also expanded the scope of the project to cover the recent attack. So, we decided to expand the fundraiser to cover new costs.
