We are requesting your kind and loving support in bringing natural and progressive healing modalities, therapies and devices in home at August’s disposal to be administered by his at home nurses and family members to support his full body recovery. This healing will be capable of giving August back his voice, ability to breathe on his own, and will strengthen his brain and body connection.

 

At 5 months old, August was diagnosed with a brain tumor wrapped around his brainstem. After fearlessly powering through two brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and proton laser therapy as an infant, the tumor was successfully removed. Now at the age of 3-years-old, August has been cancer-free for two years!

 

During the second surgery, August had a stroke in his brainstem impacting cranial nerves 5, 6 and 7 (the facial nerves that control the left side of his face and vocal cord). As a result, he experienced paralysis of his vocal cords, the left side of his face, and an impact to his gross motor skills throughout his body. August has a tracheostomy in his throat which allows him to breathe because of the paralysis to his vocal cords. He has a talker-device that he uses to talk and communicate his needs because of the paralysis of the left side of his face, which includes movement of the tongue and his ability to articulate words. Seeing this boy's strength, endurance, and contagious happiness while overcoming these roadblocks so early on in his life validates how confident we are in August’s full recovery.

 

Our goal is to help August’s brain heal where the stroke took place, so his brain can build new neural connections and allow his brain and body to communicate with each other how it wants to and was built to. His body is healthy and strong, his brain just needs to re-build the connections.

 

Through months of research and speaking with leading professionals and scientists in these areas of research and expertise, we have found multiple natural and progressive healing modalities, therapies and devices that support full body healing. All completely non-invasive and effective therapies he can receive while playing, eating or sleeping.

 

These include:

Transcranial red and near-infrared light therapy device ($10,000)

Pulsed electromagnetic frequency device ($15,000)

Sound frequency and biofield tuning therapy ($2,400)

Neuro-movement physical therapy (the Anat Baniel Method) ($3,600)

Natural foods and supplements that support neural regeneration ($3,000)
**(this is the cost of 6 months of therapies and supplements and one-time purchases of the devices)

 

Unfortunately, none of these therapies or devices are covered by insurance. It also is unfeasible to take August to a facility multiple times a week to receive therapy/treatment because August medically needs more than one person in the car at a time with him who is trained in emergency trach care. When the nursing staff isn’t available for the day, the weekend, or the week, this makes it difficult to drive anywhere with August.

 

This is why we are requesting your generous support/donation to help make it possible to bring these therapies and devices in-home for August to have administered by his in-home nursing staff and family.

 

With August being just 3 years old, we feel passionate about the potential of these healing modalities and his body's ability to fully heal.
