Memorial Fundraising for August Ceazar

Hi, my name is Sunshine May Mantilla. I am fundraising for my beloved nephew August Ceazar Saplot- a 19-year-old college student who was a victim of the recent fraternity hazing incident in Davao City, Philippines last 18th of September. Unfortunately, the fatal injuries that he received cost him his life. Fourteen fraternity members tortured him and that led to his death. Eight of them are in prison- while the authorities are still searching for the six suspects that escaped.

My nephew is the youngest among two siblings. They live together with their mother in Davao City. Their father passed away six years ago due to an illness. My cousin, their mother, works very hard to financially support her two children that are already in college.

As we know him- August is a kind and loving person who cares very much about helping their mother and finishing his studies so that he can fulfill his dream to be a policeman. It is very difficult for us to accept that his innocent life was taken away by these violent perpetrators. The family calls for justice and for the culprits to be punished.

We want to give August the memorial he deserves, to honour his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are knocking unto your generous hearts to help us cover the costs of his funeral service. We are not prepared for the high cost of a funeral, and during this difficult time we are reaching out to the community for help.
