Augie's accident & medical bills
Donation protected
Augie was in a horrible snowboarding accident. What started out as a wonderful day ended with a life changing injury. He was going over an area he thought he knew, but when he came over a rise, it was different. From what we gather, he landed on his feet, which pushed his knees up into his sternum, breaking it. That force whipped his head back into his snowboard, breaking his neck. He then snapped backward, breaking his back at the lower spine. He had surgery and is full of pins and rods, but they could not operate on his neck because it is too risky. He must remain largely immobile for at least six months to a year. Without the option of surgically stabilizing his neck, there is still a possibility he could be paralyzed from the neck down.
Augie has spent years building his business, Reflection of Perfection, a window cleaning/moss removal/chandelier detail/Christmas light installation company. He gave one hundred percent to his business in order to build a reputation and a future. With this injury, everything is in jeopardy. He cannot work, and he is losing his house and his business. His medical bills are mounting. I don't know what to set as a goal for this thing. We really aren't looking to get a certain amount of money, any little bit helps. The physical toll of this injury will last a lifetime, and the financial burden is catastrophic.
It is incredibly humbling to have to ask friends and family for money, and we are so grateful for absolutely anything you can do. Augie cannot lie flat and is in immediate need of an adjustable bed. If you live in Washington and would like to donate food to him, that would help. If all you can donate is a couple dollars, that will buy a dozen eggs. If you know someone in the Washington area that can help him keep his business going, we would be so grateful. If you can share this campaign, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this whole thing, and thank you to those whom have called or visited. The saying is so true, "Life can change in an instant". We don't know what the future holds, but we are all so scared. Augie is one determined man. He promises to be back in full force. Hopefully, with your help, the ground won't fall out from under him while he faces an unimaginably long and painful recovery
