MESSAGE FROM HIS MOTHER:
I tried to keep my son's name and his ordeal out of media until we could process what lies ahead. Yes my son is Brandon T Dufault a beautiful young spirit who recently acquired a Associates Degree in Electrical and Digital Engineering, worked for Home Depot in his 2nd supervisor position and loving his life. He is only 23.
Yesterday this all changed drastically. He had just come home from work and was in the shower when this tragedy unfolded. My husband Anthony Dufaultand myself lost 2 very dear friends. My son was the last one shot. He was in the shower when the door busted open and was fired upon through the glass doors. He sustained major glass to both of his eyes and a bullet to his face possibly 2. He underwent 11 hours of surgery on his eyes and we have been told that there will be numerous eye surgeries ahead. The first within the next 2 to 4 weeks. He will never fully recover his sight best we can hope for right now is 20/400 vision when all said and done. Which could take years. For now we are praying for colors and shadows. He was taken back into surgery today to remove bullet lodged in the back of his throat and fragments throughout his jawbone and mouth. But was postponed until Monday. His nose is also fractured which will be another surgery.
By the grace of God, my son's life was spared yesterday and I am forever grateful. I truly believe because of the values I tried to teach him and he chose to respect, I have been given another chance to teach him something more.
This will no doubt be the biggest journey of our lives but we will not give up.
I have never been one to ask for help and don't have a clue how we will get through this. It has been suggested to start a go fund me page for Brandons Medical expenses, transportation and hotels with what lies ahead but I don't know how nor do I have the patience right now.
This alone was difficult enough to share. We need everyone's prayers and support right now. And God bless us all.
