Hi everyone, I'm fundraising for my 10 year old daughter's at home medical expenses. She nearly drowned on Grand Isle beach on Sunday May 26, 2024.
She stayed at Children's Hospital in New Orleans for nearly 3 months.
She was recently discharged on August 16th, 2024.
She suffered a major brain injury from the drowning.
She is had completed physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy while at Children's Hospital.
She will continue her therapies at our local hospital.
She can now walk but she does use a wheelchair. She has a feeding tube that she uses to get nightly feeds. She is currently eating regular food throughout the day. She does not speak. She communicates with hand gestures and a communication device.
She has no control over her arms and hands because of the brain injury.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
