Dear Friends and Family. As many know, the past year has brought significant challenges for Audrey and John. In November, Audrey courageously stopped taking an antidepressant after a yearlong taper, only to face severe symptoms that have profoundly impacted her life. She has had to clear her calendar and focus completely on her healing journey, embracing each moment as it comes. For much of this time, Audrey, John, and her dad have navigated this struggle largely on their own, feeling hopeless as countless doctor visits provided little clarity. Recently, they were fortunate to connect with Dr. Josef Wit Dowering, a distinguished psychiatrist who specializes in tapering psychiatric medications and addressing drug injuries. His unwavering commitment to helping individuals like Audrey embodies true hope. Audrey's diagnosis is Protracted Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS), a brain injury that can take 7 to 24 months to heal. Understanding this condition marks a pivotal step in her recovery. Dr. Josef offers a year long comprehensive program designed to uplift and support patients like Audrey during this critical time, featuring daily support groups filled with compassion and carefully managed medication assistance for safe tapering. The total cost of this program is $30,000 for one year, which comes out to a little over $82 per day. Any overage will go to covering expenses they have obtained through this process. At this moment, Audrey and John have exhausted all of their resources and feel like this is the next logical step in Audrey’s healing. They need our collective support as they hold steadfast to their faith and each other. Please consider contributing to Audrey’s healing journey. No amount is too small. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
