Hello, everyone I am reaching out because my sister Audrey is now facing one of the worst challenges in life possible, on June 21st, Audrey was involved in a head on collision caused by a drunk driver that swerved into her lane. Audrey has spent 23 days in the icu, she is still currently in the hospital. Audrey has had several major surgeries and has had 4 strokes and a Diffuse Axonal Injury ( DAI in the brain) She is now completely paralyzed for life on the left side of her body. Audrey will now also need Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN)for the rest of her life because one of the major surgeries Was the removal of more than half of her intestines caused by the impact of this collision! Audrey now needs to go to a rehab facility. Once she is discharged from the hospital where the goal is for her to gain as much strength possible to sit up independently and recover from her surgeries. she will need therapies ranging from Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. Once she is home, she will need a medical bed. A Hoyer lift, round-the-clock nursing and therapies. All of your donations will go towards these expenses as well as for her boys who are now faced with a disabled mother.
