It is rare that you have a group of 10 plus girls who have been friends for 20 plus years , so close you are sisters . We as a group have been through it all together .. Literally . Nothing prepared us for the news of our next journey together . Our best friend , our sister Audrey Anne Masula ( but everyone close to her knows her by her maiden name and life nickname " BAMBER" ) called us a mere 3 weeks after the birth of her second child and said the words we weren't prepared for . I have cancer , I don't want to die , I want my children to know me and not by pictures and stories .
My friends we are so very sad to announce the news this way but Audrey was diagnosed with stage 4 Small cell carcinoma "favor" adeno carcinoma. Lung cancer and It has spread to her liver, Plura (lung lining) , bones and lymph nodes. It is treatable and controllable , but not curable. Auderyann is going to have to fight ( Which we all know she knows how to do! ) and be under an astronomical amount of medical attention.
Audreyann will start Chemotherapy this Monday it will continue once every three weeks , which she will have to endure for the rest of her life.
Her medical insurance is not covering her treatment which has already become a financial burden . With a new born son and 4 year old daughter and regular life expenses on top of medical it will be impossible for her husband and family to do this alone so we come to you our friends , Audrey's friends, coworkers and even strangers who are sympathetic and ask for your help .
