Help Audrey support children and bills while in the hospital

Hi, my name is Christy and I am asking for prayers and support for my daughter Audrey Bolin. On March 23, she went to the hospital in severe pain. The hospital admitted her immediately and told her she would have surgery in 2-3 hours. They said she had gangrene infection which would have been fatal if she had not gotten to the hospital as quickly as she did. We thank God every day for this! Over the course of 5 days, she had 4 surgeries to remove the infection with the last surgery confirming all infection had been removed. Once they believed no more surgeries would be needed and the wound would heal, she was moved on April 4, to a long-term care hospital so they could continue administering IV Antibiotics and continue with a wound VAC for healing the wound. We have been told she will be in the long-term care facility for 4-6 weeks. At some point we hope she can transfer home with a home health nurse checking on her wound 3 times a week.

We are unsure when she can return to work full time. Audrey normally works 50 hours per week at Whataburger with time and a half paid on the last 10 hours. Since she has been hospitalized, the 1st week, she only received pay for 32 hours and then her short-term disability kicked in which we are grateful for but this is only paid at 60% of her normal pay which does not pay her rent, car payment, insurance, daycare, utilities, food, etc. Audrey is a single Mom with 2 boys, Leo, age 9 and Luke, age 7 and like most people lives paycheck to paycheck. This illness has put a strain on her emotionally and financially. She has lost income of around $550 per week for the past 3 weeks and will continue at this rate for at least 6 more weeks and then we are unsure what the next steps will be. Our priority as a family is Audrey’s recovery and taking care of Leo and Luke’s needs while their Mom is in the hospital. This is why we have initiated this GoFundMe campaign – to reduce the financial burden on Audrey and her family, allowing her to focus on her recovery without the added stress of financial instability. Update 5/1/2024 - Thank you for your continued support and prayers! Wanted to post an update on Audrey Bolin. She was able to come home late last week with a portable wound vac. This allows her wound to continue to heal while allowing her to stay at home with us instead of being in the hospital. She has a home health nurse come out twice a week to make sure everything is working well and change her wound dressings and we go to the doctor once a week to ensure the wound is healing as expected. She is doing great and Leo and Luke are very happy to have their Mommy home and so are we! She will continue to be out of work for another 5-7 weeks with short terms disability covering on 60% of her salary. Anything you can help with would be appreciated. Thank you!
