Audrey is 17 months old.  On Christmas Eve she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the liver.  The cancer has spread to her lungs and one of her lymph nodes.  Surgery was performed on Christmas morning to biopsy and install a port for chemotherapy.  Audrey’s form of cancer is high risk metastatic hepatoblastoma. They are beginning an aggressive form of chemo.

Audrey is looking at a long road of recovery.  Multiple doctor visits.  Nine months of chemotherapy and all the unpleasantness that goes with it.  But Audrey is strong. 

Kevin and Kelly, Audrey's mom and dad, are both working parents.  One of them will have to stay home with Audrey, as she cannot be in daycare.  Chemotherapy not only destroys cancer cells.  It also destroys your immune system.  A simple illness like the common cold can be devastating for someone with no immune system. 

The struggle that the McCabe family is facing is huge.  A sick child.  Medical bills.  And giving up half their income so that they can properly care for Audrey.
