Family and Friends,

I am sharing this story with all of you in hopes that you will join me in supporting Audra’s journey.

On November 25th, after enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday with family, Audra woke up feeling very unwell and was taken to the ER. She was later admitted to the hospital due to buildup of fluid in three quarters of her right lung. Over the next day and numerous test, after thinking that what she had was pneumonia, she was given the news that there were multiple masses in the pleural space of the right lung. After a biopsy and further testing it has been determined that Audra has a rare type of Mesothelioma that is treatable but unfortunately not curable.

You can imagine the impact that this has had on Audra, her husband James, her children Ava and Brittian, her family, as well as her friends. This is not anything that Audra, at 46 years young, much less anyone else, was expecting to hear but unfortunately this is the circumstances that Audra is left to deal with.

Audra has been working with an oncologist locally as well as one at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa Florida, and based on the results she has traveled to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston for another opinion. This hospital has been noted as one of the leading centers for Mesothelioma and will give Audra the best chance to be able to make many more memories with her husband, children, family, and friends.

While we don’t know what this journey will entail, we do know that it won’t be an easy one for many reasons but mostly emotionally and financially. Audra’s family and extended family are doing all they can but they still need help.

This Go Fund Me has been started to help ease the burden on the family. There has been countless doctor’s appointments and still more to come. The normal cost of living is astounding for all of us without having this added burden. Please consider giving any amount and sharing with your friends and family.
