Audiobook of My Memoir
Donation protected
My name is Rachel, and I'm an author and mental health advocate.
In 2020, I made a commitment to start writing publicly about my mental health in service of making at least one person less alone.
Since then, I've created safe spaces online for folks to be seen and understood for difficult, stigmatized experiences like suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, divorce, and more.
My work is born from 18+ years of experience in therapy and enhanced by my education as a mental health counselor in graduate school.
In 2021, I published my memoir, "Where the River Flows. " The entire project was self-funded and self-published.
Accessibility is incredibly important to me, and I've wanted to turn my book into an audiobook since publishing. However, recording and mixing an audiobook is incredibly expensive.
I don't make a lot of money doing the work I do, and that's ok--it's not why I do it. And, sometimes that means being able to make my work accessible and more visible is a challenge.
By funding this project, you would be supporting me in my mission to help others feel less alone. It is my goal to de-stigmatize the breadth and scope of mental health so that it is safe and normalized to discuss our innermost realities and complexities.
Anything you are able to contribute is a gift, and I am more than humbled you are even here considering supporting my work and this mission.
The first chapter of my memoir is available here for free, if you'd like to get an idea for my work.
You can also read my work on medium , instagram , and my website to get a deeper understanding of my writing and mission.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
