Our granddaughter was born, full term, on January 24, 2024. She was transferred from Hanford to Valley Children's where she has been under the care of many amazing doctors. Aubrie and her parents are facing a long and difficult road ahead of them. Aubrie has Panhypopituitarism which is a rare condition in which her pituitary gland will not produce the necessary hormones that control many parts of her small body. This is a medical condition that affects only 1 in 10,000 births. She also has Optic nerve hypoplasia in both eyes. This means that the tissues and organs are underdeveloped. Her organs affected have a below average number of cells. She will most likely have little to no vision and she will need to be on medications and under medical care the rest of her life. She is hypoglycemic and has been struggling to keep her blood sugars at a stable level. She is unable to feed through a bottle and will be having an operation to have a tube placed in her stomach (silent aspiration). She has had a feeding tube since her birth, they need to move it to her stomach in order to stop her from choking on the feeds. On top of all of this we have been told she also has a hole in her heart. She is an amazing fighter and is doing her best during this struggling time. She is a beautiful 2 month old baby who has not been able to come home yet. We are asking for the funds to help her parents be able to spend time with her in the hospital and to help provide for their family during this difficult time. The gas bills alone going to the hospital are astronomical. They were able to stay in the Ronald McDonald House but Maryann has two other boys she needs to care for. Her oldest child is in Middle School and he is diagnosed with Autism, and needs to be with his mom as well. As grandparents we are doing our best to help as we can. Her middle son is 20 months and is beginning potty training and also very attached to his mom. . Maryann is taking care of all three of her beautiful children and just needs our help. As many of you know us (Mr. G from LHS ceramics class and Mrs. G from LHS Cross Country) We ask that you could find it in your hearts to help our family, if even just through prayers. Our daughter Maryann is doing her best to be the most amazing mom she is, however this is very taxing on her physical and mental health. Please help us bring Aubrie Marie home.
