Hi, one of our dance families needs your help.
Aubrey is a 11 year old girl diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 5 years old. At age 8 she was diagnosed with CRMO (chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis) which is a rare disease where the immune system attacks healthy tissue and organs causing a lot of pain and inflammation in the body. Just recently she was also diagnosed with Celiac disease. As if all of this was not enough, she was now diagnosed with Takayasu’s Arteritis. Takayasu’s Arteritis is a rare form of vasculitis disease involving inflammation in the walls of the largest arteries in the body: the aorta and its main branches. The disease results from an attack by the body’s own immune system, causing inflammation in the walls of arteries. The inflammation leads to narrowing of the arteries, and this can reduce blood flow to many parts of the body.
Aubrey is also the kindest, sweetest girl. She is a great student, dancer, sister, daughter, friend, and artist. She has two sisters that adore her and are missing her so much while she is in the hospital. She LOVES Snoopy, she dances 5-6 days a week, and is always painting or creating something. With all of her health issues, she never complains and always has a smile on her face. She is a strong little girl and we want her to know we are all supporting her and her family.
On 3/14/23 Aubrey was saying it was difficult to breathe and her legs felt weak. She went to the dr the next day and found out she had a significant heart murmur. She was rushed to Boston children’s where they have ran many tests and scans that have finally shown that she has Takayasu’s Arteritis. She is also missing her left pulmonary artery and causing narrowing of the right pulmonary artery.
Everyone who knows the Farias knows that they would give the shirts off their backs to help anyone at anytime. Now it is our turn as a community to help them. With this new diagnosis there will be many hospital stays, drives back and forth to Boston, medical bills, time out of work, etc. We want them to be able to spend as much time as possible making sure Aubrey is getting the best care while not having to worry about any financial strain that comes with having an abundance of medical complications. Please help us help the Farias as they are the most generous and first to help anyone else. Thank you so much.

Some pictures of Aubrey’s journey with CRMO. She has to go for frequent infusions to manage the inflammation and pain.

Aubrey spends a lot of her time at dance, she’s a superstar!!!
