Help Aubrey and Her Family Through the Long Road Home

Our sweet 6-year-old Aubrey has been through more than any child should ever have to endure.

Aubrey and her mother, Chelsea, were involved in a devastating burn accident that changed their lives forever. Aubrey suffered burns over 57% of her body, including her face. She has endured countless procedures, surgeries, painful treatments, and multiple skin grafts. Sadly, some of her grafts have not taken, and she continues to struggle with serious intestinal infections and other complications. Her medical journey is far from over, and she may require additional surgeries and procedures.

While Aubrey was hospitalized, another devastating complication occurred when her tracheostomy became dislodged, leaving her without oxygen and resulting in a cardiac arrest. The lack of oxygen caused severe, devastating brain injury, with approximately 97% of her brain severely damaged. Right now, her family is waiting and praying to see what functions she may have if she wakes up. No one knows exactly what the future will look like, but we refuse to give up hope for this precious little girl.

Aubrey's road to recovery will be measured in months and possibly much longer. She will require extensive care, rehabilitation, medical equipment, and accommodations as her family learns how to care for her new needs.

Through all of this, her mother, Chelsea, has been trying to be there for her daughter every step of the way. Chelsea was also injured in the accident, suffering burns to her hand, arm, neck, ear, and face. Just two days after the accident, Chelsea gave birth to a baby. She is now healing from her own injuries while caring for a newborn and remaining by Aubrey's side through this unimaginable journey.

Aubrey's father is doing everything he can to support his family as well. He drives four hours a day, five days a week, to and from Kalamazoo for work, while trying to balance work, family, hospital visits, and the overwhelming responsibilities that have come with this tragedy.

The financial burden has become enormous.

Donations will help with medical and everyday expenses, food, gas, travel costs, household bills, and the many unexpected expenses that come with having a child in the hospital for an extended period of time. Funds will also help the family prepare, renovate, and modify their home so it can safely accommodate Aubrey's needs when she is finally able to return home, including making the home as handicap accessible as possible.

We also hope to help provide handicap-accessible transportation and other necessary equipment and modifications so that Aubrey can have the safest and most comfortable life possible outside the hospital.

Every donation, no matter how large or small, will make a difference. If you aren't able to donate, sharing Aubrey's story, keeping her in your prayers, and helping us spread the word means more than we can put into words.

Aubrey has already fought so hard. Her family is standing beside her, holding onto hope, faith, and love through every uncertain moment.

Please help us give Aubrey and her family the support they need for the long road ahead.

Please pray for Aubrey. Pray for healing, strength, comfort, and hope. Pray for Chelsea, her father, her new baby sibling, and everyone who loves this beautiful little girl.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every prayer, every donation, every share, and every kind word. Aubrey's fight is not over, and neither are we. ❤️
