Hello! My name is Ariel and my mom, Nani Plaza, was diagnosed with breast cancer (again) this year. She is undergoing a mastectomy on November 16th and we are hoping that will be the only treatment necessary to make her cancer free again.

I wasn’t sure if a GoFundMe was needed until I heard the out of pocket costs of the treatment. My parents are two of the most generous people I know and my mom has been a passionate advocate for those with cancer over the years, especially as a survivor herself. I would like to gift them with funds from our community to cover the treatment costs and any other added costs that come up while my mom is in recovery.

If you would like to give, anything is welcome. The mastectomy is $1500 and then there has been out of pocket fees for the appointments leading up to today and there will be more appointments for follow up as well. It was also an additional $1000 to be tested for other cancers in the process.
