It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Richard Shipps (Rick). On February 17, 2023, Rick unexpectedly passed away. Rick was the sole provider for him and his wife. Rick was a loving husband of forty years to Barbara, a father of four, grandfather of six, great-grandfather to two, and a friend of many.
There are not enough words to describe Rick. For those of you who knew him, you are lucky enough to have been touched by his wonderful life. For those of you who did not get the chance to know Rick, he was an honest, caring, hard-working self-employed contractor for over 30 plus years and full of sarcasm who was loved and looked up to by many and whom I have grown to love as a second father. He had a soft center and a hard exterior but would never tell you about the softer side. If you wanted the most honest of opinions at the most bizarre times, his sarcasm was not intended to hurt but to make you laugh at the hardships to make them softer, how to laugh at yourself and to bite back in life.
As we mourn the loss of Rick, we are reaching out to you to ask for help. We are raising funds to assist his family in covering the cost of funeral expenses, and medical expenses and to provide support for his loved ones during this difficult time.
We kindly ask that you consider donating to our GoFundMe page to support Rick’s family. Every dollar raised will go towards providing the necessary support to help through this difficult time. If you are unable to donate, please post a message. We would appreciate it if you could share this page with us to help us reach our goal.
Rick will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Your support during this difficult time is greatly appreciated, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
