Hannah Vogt's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hello My name is Liz Willis and I am raising funds for one of my favorite persons on this planet, Hannah. Hannah's family is one of lifelong dedication and service to their community. Hannah's mom is a retired elementary school and Sunday school teacher while her dad served as the school custodian before taking early retirement to help with his daughter's medical needs. When I lost my leg in labor and delivery, the Vogt family quickly set up a fundraiser to help offset the escalating medical bills, and I am honored to now help them do the same for their daughter.
Hannah Vogt is 24 years old and is facing many mental health and physical
health challenges. She started having issues around 7th grade and things have been worsening since that time. She suffers from a variety of conditions, many of which are life-long issues with no known cure. In addition to several auto-immune diseases, she is plagued with migraine headaches, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), severe anxiety, depression, widespread chronic pain, and was recently diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and small fiber neuropathy, which affects her mobility every day.
Hannah received her LPN nursing degree several years ago and had big
hopes of continuing her education to become a Registered Nurse. But her
condition became so disabling that she was unable to work or attend school to further her degree. Despite all of her hardships, she was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and her LPN nursing program. So Hannah is definitely an overcomer of obstacles.
After years of seeing local doctors and exhausting all available options in the area, she and her family decided it was time to visit several comprehensive medical facilities. First she went to Metrodora Institute in Salt Lake City, a clinic and research center that specializes in auto-immune diseases. Then she went to Mayo Clinic two separate times. Many different and very specific tests were performed at these two clinics in an attempt to diagnose her conditions and develop possible treatments.
Hannah currently has insurance but the added cost of air travel, hotel stays,
Uber rides, and food has substantially grown over the past several months of doctor visits. Infusions 3 times per week, countless medications, and
ongoing costs to see specialists have added up as well. We don’t know if she is done visiting the larger clinics, but we are hoping that the test results so far will give some answers so that she can get her life back to hopefully attend school and work again.
