Michael was diagnosed with terminal cancer at the end of 2021, which left him permanently in a wheelchair and unable to walk. As Michael’s symptoms progressed he then lost partial sight, but managed to maintain a quality of life such as attending day club weekly within the community.

The only option provided to him by the hospital was immunotherapy which when diagnosed with cancer he decided against due to the many side effects.

During which time we celebrated his 80th Birthday, 60th Diamond Anniversary and managed to get Michael away at the beginning of his cancer battle.

Towards the end of 2024 he decided to try the treatment. Despite his heroic fight and side effects, he lost his battle to cancer on Sunday 13th April 2025.

Michael’s wishes were to raise money and donate to Cancer Research UK and St Luke’s Hospice. This will be split 50/50
