The representatives of the people over stepped the voters of Mississippi by changing the current flag without putting it before the voters. They suspended their rules, moved quickly, using backroom deals, twisting arms and putting negative pressure, on individual members to vote for their political agenda. Which is clearly in violation of their Oath of Office as stated in the Mississippi Constitution, Article 4, Sec. 40. ". . . . . and I will not vote for any measure or person because of a promise of any other member of this Legislature to vote for any measure or person, or as a means of influencing him or them so to do. So help me God.” I along with many others that I have talked to want it put on the ballot and voted on whether we keep the current flag or change it.
The 2020 legislation session will be over on Friday July 10, and as of Monday July 13, I will be filing a lawsuit representing the people voice to preserve our right to choose the flag of our choice. I am going to need financial help paying attorney fees, I promise I will fight for our rights through every level of our court system, not stopping until it reaches the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC.
