Hi, my name is Caroline. I am Atticus’ mom. On December 24th 2025, we noticed Atticus having difficulty walking on his back paws. We took him to a vet on Sunday December 28th to have him assessed, he was prescribed medication and told to be on bed rest for two weeks but we noticed a decline in his mobility. After seeing his decline on December 30th, we brought him to the emergency vet. After an MRI, they determined that he had a herniated disc. We were strongly recommended to proceed with surgery as it was the best possible treatment for him to be able to walk again.

Atticus is only 5 year old he’s a mixed hound from Costa Rica. He came to Canada with 80 other dogs in 2021. To many, Atticus is the sweetest and kindest pup.

We hate asking for help. We are trying to diminish the overwhelming cost care and surgery over $15,000.
