Attend a Pre-College Summer Engineering Program
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser for my son, Noah. He is finishing his first year of high school and is trying to attend a pre-college engineering program this summer. Please read his note below:
Hi, my name is Noah, and I'm raising funds to attend an engineering summer program for high school students. I'm an American, but my family and I live in Nairobi, Kenya. Living in Kenya is an incredible experience, but there aren't many opportunities here for me to explore universities or potential careers. That's why I was thrilled and honored when my school, Rosslyn Academy, nominated me for the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC). Nominees are selected based on academic excellence and leadership ability.
The NSLC provides high school students with a chance to receive hands-on education and experience across various fields. I'm interested in engineering and have been selected for the NSLC's Engineering program this summer at UC Berkeley.
If I'm able to attend, I'll work with a team of high school students from across the world to design and build robots, wind turbines, water purification systems, and more. I'll also interact with leading researchers and university professors.
As I mentioned above, since I live overseas, I don't have many opportunities to explore universities or careers. Therefore, I'm asking you to please consider making a financial gift to help me cover the cost of attending this program.
Tuition, airfare, ground transportation, and other fees amount to about $3,750. That's a considerable amount, but I believe that the experiences and learning that I will receive, coupled with the relationships that I will form, will be worth the money.
I would be enormously grateful for any donation that you can give.
Sincerely,
Noah Milton
