One week ago, all bars and restaurants in New York City were shut down in the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. While this was undoubtedly a necessary decision to protect the health and safety of New Yorkers, it put thousands of NYC hospitality workers out of jobs, including our small staff at Attaboy.
We have spent the past week communicating with staff, ownership and management about establishing a GoFundMe staff relief platform to distribute any and all raised funds directly to those staff who will without a doubt be greatly impacted financially over the coming weeks. I, Haley, one of the members of the small team at Attaboy, am overseeing and managing this campaign. Myself and management will be distributing the funds to staff over the coming weeks to help with their loss of income which will ultimately help them to cover rent, groceries, utilities, etc.
With that decision, we ask that, should you find yourself able, you consider donating to our fund to help our staff through these trying times. We of course understand that everyone is finding themselves impacted in one way or another right now, but it is our hope that, if you've ever joined us in our little cocktail bar on Eldridge Street, you'll find it in your heart to help us out if you can. It won't go unnoticed or unappreciated.
