Help us buy a truck for a deserving man for Christmas
We (the Frost family) love to help out a deserving person/family each Christmas. We usually don't do anything that requires help from others, but this year is a little different. Here in our community there's a little old man who drives an old rickety green truck, with handmade sides that help hold large loads. His name is Todd and he has the kindest heart. He has no other means of income besides using his truck to pick up extra trash and scrap for people for a very low cost. He drives around all day picking up trash for anyone who calls. He sorts it and takes anything he can to the scrapyard for a little extra money. He does this all for a very minimal price as he would never ever take advantage of anyone or take more than he absolutely had to. He works his tail off every day, even if it's below zero or over 100 degrees. He does all of this just to make enough money to live on so he doesn't have to sit at home and live solely on government assistance. He is a super hard worker, but most importantly, he is such a kind soul.
Last week we called Todd to come pick up some flooring that we had ripped out of our house. He showed up in a Uhaul truck. I asked where his truck was and he said it had broke down and the "bandaids" that he had put on it over the years weren't going to cut it this time. He had been renting this Uhaul truck for a few days because hauling trash and scrap is the only way he knows to make money and he couldn't let down those who were depending on him including his customers who had called to have things picked up. As soon as he left I started making some calls to see if I could find a way to help him. I talked to an acquaintance who was going to find him a good deal and let him make payments on a used truck. I called to tell him and he was almost in tears, insisting that I must be an angel. I got off the phone and thought that there has to be a way to get a truck for this amazing man as he really can't afford much of a payment. I’ve found him a good truck that should meet all his needs and last him a few more years. I'm now looking to raise the $1800 from donors who are willing to help out. I would LOVE to surprise this kind gentleman with a new (to him) truck by the end of the year. He's such a hard working and kind man and it's time he catches a break.
