While in Wyoming helping rehabilitate my brother who had recently underwent a 5-way bypass and aortic valve replacement, I received a frantic phone call from my mother in law early Sunday morning, (August 4th, 2019) that my house was completely engulfed in flames. My two brothers and I jumped into the car and raced back to Yuma only to find that in addition to losing my home, I had also lost my husband Scott and our six cats who were like children to us.

Even if you don't recognize Scott by name or face, most of you will certainly recognize his famous red van that he called the Desert Ship. He loved finding different odds and ends to add to the nautical themed chaos, and was constantly updating it's appearance; much to the joy of all those who loved seeing the various new additions every season.

My husband and I provided service through our family business Atlasta Clean Carpet to the Yuma area since August 1997, and in that time have had the pleasure of meeting upwards of 100,000 lovely snowbirds, year round locals, and fellow business owners alike. We will be forever grateful for your support over the last twenty-two years, and wish we could have given twenty-two more.
To say that this tragedy has hit our family hard is an understatement. We are completely devastated in every way we could possibly be. You truly never know what you have to lose until you do, and it can happen in a blink of an eye.

The funds from this campaign will be used to help pay the expenses of the multiple fire departments that responded that terrible night, and stayed to battle the flames for over 48 hours. Unfortunately this is one of the few things that insurance isn't able to provide coverage for, and in our current financial state there is no way we could ever repay our debt.
We know times are tough for everyone, but any help right now is greatly appreciated if you are able.
Thank you for your time, please stay safe.
