Hello, My name is Isaiah I am the father of Atlas.

Atlas had a rare heart condition called “Truncus Arteriosis “ thank god we had took him to the hospital when we did. He had his open heart surgery and it lasted about 8hrs everything went to plan , but his (new) Atora valve has four flaps instead of 3 and which is causing Atoric Regurgitation. He scared us for a moment his heart stopped beating and they lost his pulse. They did chest compressions for 3minutes and he was strong enough to pull through. Now his heart is beating strong and healthy. They took him off of the paralytic drug called “Vecuronium”, but he is still sedated with “fentanyl” to keep him comfortable because of all the stuff he is connected to is very uncomfortable. We just have to take things hour by hour and day by day and see how well he can recover so atlas can come home. Today he opened his eyes :(( we were very happy to see him move and be able to look around a bit. We have been here with him for a week and the couch is not comfortable let me tell you ,and the driving back and forth for food and clothes and eating at the hospital and drinking Starbucks is expensive. At the moment me and grace are jobless and we don’t know if our insurance is going to cover the cost of the surgery and recovery. We aren’t asking for a lot whatever you can give will help tremendously.
