Hey there! My name is Atlas, I'm a trans man from Atlanta, GA, currently in the Charlotte, NC area for work.

When I came out in 2021, I began a journey to feel more at peace. For the past 5 years, my journey in transition has consisted of social transition (using he/him pronouns) and medical transition via testosterone (HRT) injections. In June of 2026, I had my consultation with a surgeon who will perform a bilateral mastectomy, or "top surgery". This is to help me feel more at home in my body, as well as in the world, and it’s a feeling I hope that you all can understand.

When thinking about surgery results, I've caught myself filling with joy when envisioning my future life with a flat chest. Whether that is the euphoria I would feel putting a shirt on and it "fitting just right" or even when hugging a loved one; I've always equated it to feeling at home. Your generous donation will have a direct impact on my physical and mental health by providing much needed encouragement in my journey home within my own body.

I know that crowdfunding is necessary with the many barriers that transgender folks face every day. While I do feel very vulnerable when sharing my transition with others, I know it's an important part of my process. My transition journey is something that is so special and sacred to me. Thankfully, my health insurance will cover a large majority of my procedure! However, there is still a copay of ~$1,650, which is due at the appointment. Any funds that are raised will go directly towards my surgery, as well as the medical supplies needed for recovery.
