Hi, my name is Atlas Alvarez, my pronouns are they/them/theirs and I have something to get off my chest. I have been a gender non-conforming person for as long as I can remember. By growing up on the internet, I found a way of connecting to others’ experiences and give definition to the incongruity that I feel.
The first time I experienced chest dysphoria was when my first puberty struck and my breasts began to grow. Since then, I have resorted to different methods of hiding my chest. These binding methods have taken a toll on my physical and mental health as they don’t exactly rid me of dysphoria. The time has come for me to alleviate this bothersome feeling and reach the comfort that I have been longing for.
For a long time, I debated on creating this fundraiser as I am not one that often seeks others for help. It is hard to put this out considering the amount I am requesting and vulnerability I am giving, but ultimately, it is the price I have to pay for happiness and comfort. Seeing other people accomplish their gender affirming medical procedures through crowdfunding encouraged me to create my own in hopes that I can receive that same help through friends, family, and even kind strangers on the internet. I want to undergo my chest masculinization procedure by the end of this year and know that I have to make it happen one way or another.
Any donation amount is deeply appreciated. I expect to give back to the community in the future when I am able to provide. If you read my whole story and are unable to donate, please share however you can. Thank you!
