Atlantis Project:Pre-Med Fellowship
Donativo protegido
Hello family, friends, peers and mentors! Most of you already know that I have always strived to be a doctor and have followed/ been a part of my journey up to the point of being the first in the family to graduate this May, but why end here?
As of today I was honored to be accepted to participate in an incredible service experience and medical internship for this summer (2017) through the a program known as the "Atlantis Fellowship Project." I would be spending 3 weeks abroad in Madrid, Spain. During that time I would have the opportunity to shadow medical professionals in various fields of medicine, which would really help me intrinsically decide what I want to specialize in, while at the same time practicing my Spanish in terms of healthcare. Additionally, I will have the opportunity to participate in service--teaching English to the community's youth, medical professionals and unemployed adults.
As a Kinesiology student and fellow Hispanic-American, I am very excited about the prospect of observing a healthcare system outside of the United States as well as being able to further appreciate the Spanish cultural diversity as a whole.
I feel blessed to say I am the first person to be granted acceptance from SDSU into this very prestigious program, but with a little generosity and prayers from family, friends, peers and mentors on behalf of my success, this life long endeavor of mine can finally become a reality! So in advance I would like to send my greatest appreciation and say thank you for any help along this journey because I have never wanted something so much in my life!
All my best,
Caleb Lopez
