Atlantis – Help bring a James Bond icon back to life

I stumbled across this boat tucked away in a quiet boat yard on the east coast of England. She looked tired, almost forgotten — but there was something about her that immediately grabbed me. Then the owner mentioned something unexpected: “She was in a James Bond film once.” That hit me like a bolt of nostalgia. I suddenly realised I’d seen her before, back when I was a kid — in The Spy Who Loved Me. And just like that, I knew I couldn’t let her fade away. She needed saving.

I went ahead and bought her, and from that moment, the journey began. I started digging into her history, reaching out to previous owners, and eventually got a little help from the team at Pininfarina. Sure enough, it was confirmed — this was the boat. Atlantis. Commissioned by Albert “Cubby” Broccoli himself, designed by the legendary Pininfarina, and built by Intermarine in the early ’70s. She’d carved through the waters of Sardinia alongside Roger Moore, and even filmed scenes inside the famous 007 water tank at Pinewood Studios.

After her moment in the spotlight, Atlantis was sadly left to the elements. But now, I’ve made it my mission to bring her back — properly. I want to restore her to her former glory, and then some. Not just as a collector’s piece, but as a living, breathing tribute to film history, design, and craftsmanship.

To do that, I’m trying to raise £50,000. This will go towards a full, authentic restoration:

• Recreating her original 1970s Pininfarina design.

• A new pair of engines to get her moving again.

• A lovingly refurbished interior — with vintage charm and updated luxury.

• Safety and navigation upgrades to modern standards.

• And most importantly, preserving her role in cinematic history.

This project is deeply personal. It’s about more than just a boat — it’s about storytelling, passion, and preserving something truly iconic. And I’d love for you to be part of it.
