Urgent Support for Shanavas Rasheed and His Family

Dear Friends,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you of the loss of our beloved Shanavas. Shanavas was a soft-spoken man who recently moved to Atlanta with his family. His innocence and sense of humor always brought kindness to everyone around him. He was a great family man, a caring father, and a gentleman. He is survived by his amazing wife, Najma, who is a homemaker, and a daughter in 9th grade and a son in 8th grade.

Life is highly unpredictable. Shanavas collapsed suddenly on Wednesday, August 19, and was admitted to Northside Hospital the same day. Unfortunately, Shanavas, the only breadwinner for his family, never recovered from the collapse and passed away due to Anoxic brain damage on Sunday, August 23. His funeral was completed on August 24 with complete honor.

His elderly parents and in-laws are in India and are yet to recover from the shocking incident. His wife, daughter, and son are under tremendous emotional pressure and grief. We want to stand together with this wonderful family and pave the way for a smooth transition during this unfortunate and sad phase of their life.

We, Friends of Shanavas, are organizing this campaign on behalf of his wife, daughter, and son. We are a team of his close friends and colleagues from the Atlanta, GA area and have known him personally.

This GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds to:

1. Manage living expenses for the next year until Shanavas's wife can get job training and find a job

2. Secure funds for their daughter and son's education

3. Support apartment rent payment

4. Handle local and operational expenses

All the funds collected in the campaign will be directly deposited into the beneficiary's/Najma's account. The funds collected will be managed and invested by the beneficiary after consultation with a financial adviser to cover both short-term living expenses for the family (Shanavas's wife, daughter, and son) and long-term educational expenses for their two kids.
