Bill and Ginny Smith have been married for 47 years. Bill is 85 years old and Ginny is 87. Like so many others, they lost everything to the destructive Paradise Fire. I first met Bill and Ginny when I was 14, they have been an integral part of my life and are lifelong friends of my mother and stepfathers. Bill and Ginny owned Longhorn Meet Company in Loomis California until 1997 when they retired. They took their life savings and purchased a house in Paradise California. Since 2005, Bill has had two strokes, leaving him completely disabled. Since then, Ginny has remained his primary caretaker. Prior to the fire, the insurance on their mobile home was cancelled because they were in a “high risk” fire zone. Ginny had an appointment set for Friday November 9th with an insurance company; unfortunately, the Paradise fire destroyed their home one day prior, November 8th. We are trying to raise enough money to help them purchase a new mobile home! They are looking to relocated to Loomis, Granite Bay, Rocklin or Roseville. I am working on trying to find them a space in a mobile home park with fees under $600 a month. Please help me get these two back into a safe place!
