A week before Christmas 2018, our beloved sister, Francine, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor.

 

We are so happy that Fran has had three wonderful years. She continues to be the vivacious, fun, calm, and loving spirit she has always been.

 

However, the tumor has now spread and, under her doctor's advice, she needs to resume her at-home chemotherapy treatments.

 

Francine was unable to continue working as an educational assistant for the school board and has been on sick leave since her diagnosis. Her access to medical benefits/insurance expired a few months ago and she no longer has coverage for the prescriptions she needs.

 

There are many other expenses, including trips to Hamilton General Hospital and overnight stays for her fiance, Gord Cummings, who now looks after Francine full time at home.
